Homemade Ranch Dressing
This lovely homemade ranch dressing can be used in so many other recipes and is an excellent addition to any recipe book.
You can make a couple of cups ahead for a busy week with the family. Spice it up with Sriracha or jalepneo to taste.

Ingredients - Serves

½ csour cream (you can substitute unflavored yogurt)

¼ to ½ cbuttermilk (amount determines consistency)

2 tbs

1 tbsfresh parsley minced

1 tbsminced fresh dill or cilantro (get racy and do both!)

1 tbsminced fresh chives

1clove garlic, pressed or minced

1 to 2 tsp (to taste)lemon juice

½ tspsalt

In a bowl, combine the sour cream, ¼ cup buttermilk, mayonnaise, fresh herbs, garlic, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, salt, and about 5 twists of black pepper. Whisk to combine.

Taste, and add up to ¼ cup more buttermilk if you desire a thinner, more drizzly consistency. Add up to 1 teaspoon more lemon juice if you would like more zing, and/or more pepper to kick it up a notch.
Notes:
Let rest for 10 mins to let the flavors merge. Can be stored up to 7 days in the fridge.
You can use cracked black peppercorns, finely chopped jalepeno or Sriracha sauce to add some heat to creamy dressing.
