THE subject of traps may seem an improbable one on which to base a book, especially when the objects themselves are apt to be regarded as miscellaneous hunks of metal and can often be found in a muddled heap at the back of a hardware store. Yet they hold a fascination for men which has persisted from earliest times, for they were amongst the first tools manufactured by man and used by him to improve his standard of living.
