We are at a point of preparing for going solar, so we purchased this power monitor to determine our electrical needs, so we can then start designing a solar system that will work for us.

You simply plug the monitor into an available outlet and plug your item into the monitor.  In our case, we continue to do this until we've tested everything electrical that we plan to have in our off-grid home.

This unit can also be used to find out where you can save money on your monthly bill.  Maybe you have a guest room with TV setup?  You might find you'd do better to unplug your system, and only plug it in when you have guests arriving.

Another way this can be a valuable tool is if your electric bill spikes, you can use this monitor to determine the culprit that caused the spike.

    The Monitor:

    • Calculates cost and forecasts by week, month, and year
    • Displays eight critical units of measure on the large LCD display
    • Built-in backup of accumulated information.
    • Accurate within 0.2%
    • Calculates cost and forecasts by week, month and year

A simple extension cord solved all the items listed as a "Con" for this product.
